We had a great week at camp. I didn’t see a whole lot of the other kids. Kelly helped me out a bit in the mornings while I did my job making sure the canoers were safe. As soon as she was done with that she was off to make hemp bracelets, do watercoloring, or horseback riding. I saw the middle two at night to take them back to the rv at night. David was out on the boat all day every day with Matt. Watching him flip the tube and dump the high schoolers in the water. Best day; Wednesday…he dumped off 22 kids. They both had so much fun. I only had to yell at one kid for not listening. He insisted on taking his canoe out while Matt was bringing the boat in to the dock. I told him to wait or the wake would roll him. He figured he knew better and sure enough he dumped his canoe with 2 girls in it. We sent out our lifeguard in the zodiac to help them turn it over and bring them back in. I let him have a 2nd chance and he did it again, this time no boat wake for an excuse. This kid has a bad reputation and I was trying to ignore all that and give each kid a clean slate, but this guy deserves the rep he has! Jackass!
I am gearing up for our last camp of the summer. Kurt is the summer volunteer for our childrens pastor and we have a camp for 3rd-5th grade next M-TH. I am going to cook. It will be a small group this year, just 25 kids, 9 counselors, and 7 adult cooks/nurse/crafts/emt. Matt is letting me rent a small trailer for it, which is great because I really wasn’t looking forward to tent camping with Joe.
After camp is over, I have one other small project to wrap up..editing the church cookbook. This project has been ongoing for over a year now. I am looking forward to finally handing this off to the publisher.
David and Kelly have started soccer and have practice 2 different nights a week. They head back to school the first week in September. Kurt starts running start at the local community college in the end of September. I feel like our summer is quickly coming to a close. I am looking forward to getting back to a regular routine in the fall.
I have agreed to take on the role of moppets coordinator for our church’s mops group this fall. I will be coordinating the childcare workers for Friday mornings and making sure that the kids are all settled so that moms can relax and enjoy their morning with a speaker, snacks, and a craft twice a month.
Still plugging away on the required reading for my doula certification, but a small part of me thinks I might like to pursue a nurse/midwife degree, then the other part of me dreads all that school. We’ll see.

So glad you’re home and had a good time. I missed you
You would be awesome at any of those things. School would be nothing for you, you know you’re smart enough. Might be fun?
Fun, yes, but how to find the time and balance the other 50,000 things that go on here at our house. Maybe when Joe goes to school
Where are you and where is my other comment?
